Government Not Taking Appropriate Steps to Safeguard the Minorities
On March 9, 2011, Larkana Chapter arranged a seminar on the topic of the peace and tolerance clubbed with chapter’s election to elect the office bearers for the year 2011.
Mr Aijaz Ahmed Junjua was unanimously elected as the President, Ghulam Sarwar as the General Secretary and Mr Aijaz Ali as the Information Secretary.
The elections were followed by the seminar which included Mashooque Ali Jatoi President Small Traders Association Sindh and chief editor of Daily Fast Times), Qadir Bux Bhatti president District Bar Association Larkana, Zafar Ali Abro President Press Club Larkana, Mohammad Punjal Sangi (NGO activist) as speakers.
Mr Talib Hussain Shah briefed about the LFP and objectives of the seminar.
Mr Jatoi stated that the primary aim of secularism is to preserve freedom of thought and belief. If the state begins to show favor towards any particular religion, followers of other faiths face discrimination and persecution and lose faith in the country.
Mr Q Bhatti said that Quaide Azam supported religious freedom as proven by his August 11, 1947 speech.
Mr Sanghi said that the government is not taking appropriate steps to safeguard the fundamental rights of minorities.

Promoting Liberalism in Larkana
LFP Larkana chapter conducted seminar on “Promoting Liberalism” on July 25, 2010.
Mr Nazir Ahmed Sheikh, former GS PPP Larkana, Mr Panjal Sangi President Civil Society Network Larkana, Mr Talab Hussain Shah GS LFP Sindh, Mr. Kazi Ijaz President LFP Larkana, Mr Ali Hassan Representative Bar Association Larkana, Mr Nazir Siyal Representative Press Club Larkana, Mr Qurban Ali Solangi, Chairman Peace Welfare Trust Larkana, Mr Liaquat Ali Channa who is an intellectual spoke at the seminar.
Syed Talib Hussain Shah briefed about LFP and its functioning.
Mr Nazir Ahmed Sheikh said that the public is getting disinterested, and depressed from political parties and their role in the society. He added that Pakistan needs a free and democratic society where everyone has equality of opportunity, sense of security and rule of law without any discrimination.
Mr Panjal Sangi said that in the current scenario, there is a need to create awareness about liberalism through which we can transform the society, and counter the conservatives, and fundamentalists and promote modern, progressive, secular and democratic values.

Topic: Local Government & Governance
On February 21, LFP’s Larkana Chapter has organized a seminar on the subject of “Local Government & Governance”. Mr. Syed Talib Hussain Shah General Secretary LFP Sindh, Syed Ali Raza Shah District Naib Nazim Larkana. Mr. Mashooq Ali Jatoi President of Small Traders and Cottage Industries Sindh, Mr. Qadir Bux Bhatti Senior Vice President District Bar Association, and Mr. Qazi Aijaz Junejo President LFP Larkana spoke to the seminar.
Syed Talib Hussain Shah said this system has carried a lot of development projects at district level. He added LFP calls for meaningful decentralization and devolution of power through which we explore the skills and enhance the capacity of leadership of the citizens at district level for their meaningful participation in the society. LFP continuously supports the local government system in Pakistan.
Syed Ali Raza Shah said Local Government system is the basis of democracy where you can easily approach to the elected representative & involve locals in decision making at local level. He added we should build this system more transparent and accountable rather to wind up it.
Mr. Mashooque Ali Jatoi said this system addressed the local issue and solve at local level.
President of Small Traders and Cottage Industries Sindh and Peoples Party Media Cell Incharge Larkana Mr. Mashooque Ali Jatoi said that Local Government System is the basic democracy because the representatives of the people are easy approachable for common man, the common man explain their problems on the door step and the representative doing the need full on the matter at once, no doubt the above system introduced by a dictator. But his importance can not be deny by the any one, because the system providing essential requirement to the common people such as street, roads, culverts surface drains, and keep them clean.As for as my knowledge is concern like a such facility has been provided by constitution of the country.
Senior Vice President of District Bar Association Larkana Mr. Qadir Bux Bhatti said in his speech that the basic democracy is a role model in the world but unfortunately peoples of this country are joining such a facilities in the role of dictators, we are unable to enjoy the benefit of local government, when ever political setup of the civilian role the country, present Government want to reback Local Government System. but I pray to the God Government will succeed to fulfill his commitment, and held the local bodies election with in four mont period, as per his commitment.
President LFP Larkana Chapter Qazi Aijaz Junejo introduced the Liberal Ideas, values and explained a theme of Liberalism and he explained very well the goal of Liberalism. Liberalism always provide the platform to the people to change their the problem facing by the people this seminar is organized by LFP Larkana Chapter to provide essential information about the Local Government to the people of the area, the importancy of a chit can be ignore. I challenged to Local Waderas, Jagirdars and Exploiters that they using of the vote is not simple to used in your on favour.
A little boy Azan Raza well wisher of LFP introduced the Liberal Ideas, Values and introduced the theme of LFP to Audience they highly appreciates the efforts taken by a little Liberal boy during his speech.

Larkana Chapter Elects New Office-Bearers
On January 30, Mr. Talab Hussain Shah General Secretary LFP Sindh attended a meeting convened by the LFP Larkana Chapter to elect new office bearers for the year 2010. Mr. Qazi Aijaz Junejo was unanimously elected as the President, while Mr. Syed Mehtab Ali Shah as the General Secretary, and Aijaz Ali Surhio as the Information Secretary.
The newly elected persons, spoke on the occasion, and discussed ways to more effectively organize the Chapter locally.
