Islam Stands for Settlement of Issues by Consultation
On Feb 21, Mianwali Chapter conducted a seminar on Peace & Tolerance.
The speakers at the seminar included Mr Amjed Martin (former District Council Member) Muhammad Nawaz Salaar (a civil society activist), Mian Muhammad Feroz (a professor), Father Younas Masih.
Khan Muhammed, the newly elected president, briefed the participants about LFP and its objectives.
Mr Amjed Martin said that Islam advocates tolerance and for settlement of issues by consultations. Tolerance in Islam towards other religions is rooted in the Holy Quran. He said that Islam was not spread by force.
Muhammad Nawaz Salaar said that there are many discriminatory provisions against minorities in the laws of the country. He said that State is like a mother and all the segments of society must be dealt equally. Secular state means equal value to all and this equality guarantees peace and tolerance.
Mian Muhammad Feroz said that all the human beings are equal. There should not be discrimination on the basis of color, creed, religion, and ethnicity.
Father Younas Masih was of the opinion that all religious teachings are based on peace and tolerance. Humanity is the center point of all the religions. Islam, Christianity and other religions should promote the common values of all the religions.
Minawali Chapter Elects New Office-Bearers
On February 16, Mr. Khan Muhammad Khana was unanimously elected as the President, while Mr. Saif Ullah Khan as a General Secretary and Mr. Jabbar Siddiqui as the Information Secretary LFP Minawali Chapter.
The newly elected persons, spoke on the occasion, and discussed ways to more effectively organize the Chapter locally.
