Memorandum of Cooperation with Friedrich Naumann Stiftung

On Feb 21, LFP signed a MOC with FNSt for 2009. This MOC, covering roughly an amount of Rupees seven million, including one million for FYG, will enable LFP to conduct activities relating to the promotion of liberal values in the country, particularly amongst its members; and create awareness relating to issues concerning Governance, with special emphasis on Saying No to Corruption, Access to Information, and Local Government Elections.

A few workshops for political party activists on the subject of Inner Party Democracy are also being planned.

We hope that all LFP Members will take an active part in all of LFP Activities during the year.

FNSt Regional Director Visits LFP Secretariat

On Feb 5, Dr Rene Klaff, Regional Director, and Mr Olaf Kellerhoff, Resident Rep of Friedrich Naumann Stiftung visited LFP’s Secretariat in Islamabad to discuss activities for 2009. Some members of the LFP Board, LFP employees, and active FYG members based in Islamabad, also attended the meeting
